29 Jan Institute for a Progressive Nevada Announces News Blog, Nevada Forward
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MONDAY, JANUARY 29, 2017
Nevada Forward will be tasked with covering both national and local politics through a Nevada lens
LAS VEGAS – Today, Institute for a Progressive Nevada (IPN) announced the launch of its new progressive news blog, Nevada Forward. Nevada Forward aims to fill the void of quality, independent journalism in Nevada, while also amplifying voices from our state’s diverse communities, voices who are often marginalized or outright ignored.
Nevada Forward will also be a place where our communities’ voices will not just be heard, but also listened to. We need a place where news will not just be broken, but also where it will be explained so Nevadans can make more informed decisions and participate in their government. We will also encourage Nevadans from all across the state to participate in this exciting opportunity and make their voices heard by contributing guest blogs.
We want to be a place where people can go for updates and facts on the progressive issues that matter most.
“Today is an important day for the progressive community. Nevada Forward is an important step in the right direction for our community,” said IPN Executive Director, Annette Magnus. “Institute for a Progressive Nevada saw a need to have a blog to cover the issues that matter most to our communities across Nevada. We are working to fill a gap that desperately is needed at a time like this in politics. We are looking forward to this new adventure in covering the news through a Nevada perspective.”
“I’m thrilled to take part in this new endeavor. Nevada Forward is our chance to share news and views that are too often overlooked elsewhere,” said Andrew Davey, Managing Editor of Nevada Forward. “I look forward to engaging with communities across Nevada as we dig deeper into the news, both nationally and locally.”
